Glitters and Bubbles: Pegasus Poop

Hi Ninjas!

Ok, so I know the title of this post makes little to no sense at all but soon you'll understand! The wonderful Amanda over at Glitters and Bubbles has created an absolutely amazing Franken-Polish. This polish is a multi-chrome and a LINEAR HOLOGRAPHIC! After asking for suggestions, Ms. Amanda named her beautiful creation Pegasus Poop, probably along the lines of many of the famous polishes in the lacquer world being named after Unicorn... excretions. 

Since it is a franken, Amanda isn't going to be making this color in bulk, I'm glad to own one of the bottles from the very first batch of PP! I've heard that there will be no more than 50 bottles of this released into the wild world of polish so get yours while you can! Here is the glory of Pegasus Poop in two coats over one coat of Zoya Raven:

Sorry for the picture spam but it's super hard to catch all of the colors in this polish AND get a good picture of the linear holo without having direct sunlight.

Pink Wednesay, Franken Style.

I've been on a frankening spree lately and last night I made a franken with a purpose! This is a pink Franken for Pink Wednesday! I used a really fugly neon pink mini from a Hello Kitty set I picked up a while back, added some reds, a little orange glitter and holo hexs to make this pretty color. I'm calling it Dreamy Jeannie because it makes me think of something Jeannie would have worn in I Dream of Jeannie. It's a bit sheer so this is three coats but I continue to have good luck with how shiny these have been drying.

Anyone know a good place to get jars for frankening?

Franken... Tuesday?

Today I've got my first (even before Rockin' Robin) Franken. This was what happened when I tried to make a Glitter in the Air dupe and failed miserably. The only thing I remember about this formula is that there was Rimmel Grey Matter, a couple of Hello Kitty Glitter Mini's, a Hot Topic clearance Glitter, and some Wet n Wild Glitters.

The polish itself actually turned out really nice. It's a light grey with a jelly finish that dries super shiny! I almost didn't need topcoat on top of this but thought it would be a good idea anyways (Frankens aren't exactly fast drying creatures). The Glitter is neat because you can see the various layers I have through the sheer of the grey. This is three coats with Seche Recondition as Base and Orly quick drying topcoat on top.

I'm still not sure what to call this franken. Originally I was going to call it "Rock you like a hurricane" with it being all grey and stormy but I didn't want all of my frankens to have "rock" in the title. I dunno, what do you think?

Here's a franken I did two nights ago that I already have a name for "Sorcerer's Apprentice" This is a really neat deep red-purple with lots of holo hex glitters in it. The pictures lean more blue than the actual polish does but I'm sure it will show up better when I actually swatch this.

Deep Space Layering

So I was trying to franken a Clarins dupe... It didn't work out because the shimmer ended up mixing together instead of only showing at different angles but it's pretty anyways! I did a base of Wet n Wild Black Cream then one layer of my franken to start this manicure. I thought it was too simple (Looked a little like black pearl) so I added a layer each of Wet n Wild Dancer and Dasher. Then I matted it up with Essie Matte About You since I'm out of Seche (oh no!).

I think it looks a little bit like you're lost in space on the TARDIS (which is a Dr. Who reference for you non-nerds) Lover it!

Mood Struck and Franken Haul

Here's the pretty Mood Struck polish I was telling you about. It didn't have a name that I could find so I'm just calling it Peach lol. The bottle looks like a golden shimmer filled coral color which is why I picked up the three pack to begin with. The hot color is a sort of light gold and the cold color is the very pretty golden coral.  This is a pretttty polish but not easy to manage, it can turn out streaky if you're not careful with application and it applies sort of matte which means pulling is very possible. It does dry very fast though and looks lovely with Seche Topcoat.

Two coats Mood Struck Peach, one coat Sech QD.

Sorry it's blurry, I was in a hurry to volunteering. After I got home and studied for my test, I added orange glitter tips to my nails that sort of matched the cold coral color. I added a coat of Salley Hansen Double duty to make it stick then another on top to even it out.

I like the last picture because the index and middle finger are cold where the ring and pinky finger are warm. Neat!


Next I have for you a picture of all the cool things I picked up that day. I got 6 glitters for frankening as well as pigments in a little 12 pack. Three art polishes and two face pallets along with the mood polish three pack make up the fun stuff!

My First Franken!

I'm calling this Rockin' Robin because I spent most of my time with this trying to get the blue close to robin egg blue. I  originally started this off as a Glitter in the Air dupe but I don't have the right glitter to put in it so it turned into a pretty Easter color. It needs to be thinned out in a bad way and I didn't bother to do any clean up because I didn't intend to keep it on after I took pictures.

This is two coats of Rockin' Robin with no base coat and Seche Top Coat.

Again, this is nooo clean up. so please ignore the horrible mess on my cuticles! Isn't it a neat color though? And no, I am not sure what all went into this lol. I think I used something close to 6 polishes in this franken lol.
