Ultra-Violet

This super cheap mani is a gorgeous way to get some rich color in your wardrobe without burning people's corneas. This is two coats of Wet n Wild's Buffy the Violet Slayer with two coats of Hannah Pinktana over it. I love the subtle holo effect of Hannah Pinktana even though it's hard to see in the pictures. This is a super vibrant combination of colors that is so violet that it looks like a royal blue under some lighting. Probably one of my favorite mani's in a while. Another quick note, these polishes are epic! I had to do some heavy duty cleaning with bleach and other solvents (no I didn't poison myself with fumes) and I didn't get ANY chips in this color, great staying power on these two polishes :)

Where it all started...

So there are two polishes responsible for my blogging and current obsession. They're both Rimmel colors and today I have one of them to show you all by itself. This is two gorgeous coats of Rimmel London's 60 Seconds polish in Deliciously Dark. This is a great blackened plum or cherry color. My new boss called it black cherry and that's a great description. This color looks like a black cherry skin when it's perfectly ripe. Love it. The only problem with this formula was that it dried almost too fast so it was prone to bubbling. However, if you're careful and do two thinner coats instead of one thick coat it works wonderfully.

Party of Five, take three!

So this is the third manicure I've done with Wet n Wild's Party of Five Glitters. The first one was my Mardi Gras mani and the second was the glitter under mani from the other day. Today I have PoFG over Zoya Mira which is a pretty medium purple than leans more red than blue. Two coats of Mira under one coat of PoFG and one coat of Seche QD.

I'm Alive!

Thank you for sticking around during my polish-hiatus. My nails are growing back slowly but surely but they're no longer grossly yellowed so it's worth it. For some reason my left hand nails are growing much faster than my right hand nails so my pictures will be back to only my left hand for now.

Today I have a glitter under manicure for you. I have been seeing these pop up and I like the way they seem to imitate Glitter in the Air so I just had to try it. This is two coats of Essie French Affair as a base, one coat of Wet n Wild Party of Five Glitters, and one of Essie Ballet Slippers. I love it.

Sorry!

Sorry about the lack of posts lately.  I was going to post last night but Justin and I found a stray dog and had to handle that. Needless to say, I lost a little faith in humanity last night. I also have been interviewing for a new job that I just got and then this Friday we're moving to a new townhouse. I promise to get pictures up when I can! I'm heading to Charlotte tonight so I can pick up my wedding dress so it's all crunch time this week.

Russian Roulette and Starting Over

So, last night I cut my nails all the way down to the smile/visible nail line. I then buffed the life out of them, added some great cuticle cream then did a coat each of Seche Recondition and Nailtique 2. My nails are officially super short nubbins... I am starting over with my nails. They were stained, weaker in some spots and getting some funky ridging at the base where the new nail was coming in so I'm starting over. I'll post naked nail progress pictures here every three days and probably try top keep up with press releases and nail trends until my nails get pretty.

No polish until their healthy again. I want my nails to be nice healthy pink for my wedding so I'm taking nail and hair vitamins and hoping they will grow out in time. Otherwise I'll get get an acrylic French for my wedding day.

Have no fear, I will  continue my nail blogging with my own nails once they grow back out (And the updated growth pictures of course) I'm just going a slightly unconventional route for a little while. If you stick around as a follower, thanks a million! If not, I completely understand. I'lm posting pictures of one of my last two mani's before the great regrowth begins. This Is Essie Russia n Roulette alone then with Sally Hansen's pink crackle on top. Enjoy.

Essie Sugar Daddy and Mink Muffs

Here are two quick swatches of Essie colors Sugar daddy and Mink Muffs. Sugar Daddy is a sheer pink jelly-ish color in the cotton candy realm of pink. It is the perfect French Manicure color and you've seen it on me before with white tips :) Mink Muffs is a lovely taupe that leans a little purple/grey but still lands firmly in the land of a brownish color. Lovely application, two coats for perfect coverage.
