Color Club Revvolution

Hello Ninjas!

Trivia weekend was awesome. I'm still getting my sleep schedule back in order but it was an awesome year for our team. We came in second out of over 50 other teams and only lost first by 10 points out of over 1000!

Tonight's manicure is two coats of Color Club Revvolution which is a black holo polish. This color looked much more black or gunmetal grey in person, I'm not entirely sure why it leans green in these photos. It was really difficult to get a good shot of the holo in this polish, I'm beginning to think that I'll have to use artificial light instead of a light box to properly show off my holos!

Color Club Angel Kiss

Hello Ninjas!

I hope you're all finding this new year to be starting off well for you. Tomorrow is graduation here at work and after the big seminar we just had, it's been hectic. I've been running pretty consistently though and I'm up to 10 miles for the year so that's something.

Tonight's manicure is two coats of Color Club Angel Kiss from their Halo Hues collection. AK is a light teal/blue linear holographic polish. This is probably the easiest linear holo polish I've ever worked with, no special base or topcoat needed and no bald spots or dragging on application. My MiL bought me this along with two more of the Halo Hues collection so you can look forward to those in the coming weeks!

Magnetic Force Electro Midnight

Hello lovely Ninjas!

Tomorrow is graduation day for my Husband and I again! We're headed up to Blue-Black tomorrow night, time to start the last three months of my torture in the Water element. I can't wait to work up to Fire, it's something to work towards :)

Tonight's manicure is two coats of a magnetic polish by the parent company Color Club in their Magnetic Force collection. This is Electro Midnight used with an off brand magnet from another polish I picked up at Rite Aid a few months back. I went with the different magnet because my nails are too small to get the full wave effect from the Color Club Magnet but the diagonal lines looked pretty awesome. The only downside to this polish was the weird way Seche QD peeled off of it like lamination film, very strange.

Color Club Port-Folio

Hello Ninjas!

I'm currently watching the Walking Dead mid-season finale so this will be a super short post!

This is two coats of Color Club Port-Folio from their fall collection over one coat of Essie No More Film. This is a really awesome duochrome polish that flashed bright emerald green and a nice reddened purple. I really loved the extreme color change on this one but it didn't come through in the pictures very well so I had up increase the saturation on most of these pictures to get the colors more accurate.

October Halloween nail art challenge!

Hello Ninjas!

I spent all weekend learning cool new ninja moves and having a fantastic time with my fellow martial artists. I gotta say, ninjas know how to party; my body hurts more from the dancing on Saturday night than from getting thrown around like a rag doll during training. Good times all around!

This is my first attempt at a nail art challenge. I've joined a great group of ladies with a love for lacquer in a Halloween themed challenge. The first day is Horror Movies! I had these grand plans for a really awesome SAW manicure but it doesn't look nearly as pretty as I hoped. Ah well, that's why it's a challenge! Two coats of Essence Grey-t to be here, ManGlaze Fuggen Ugly to look like saw blades on the tips of the nails, and two art stripers were used to make this manicure. The lighting wasn't working with me so I made one black and white for a little variety.

Color Club Steel of Night

Hello Ninjas!

Hope you're all having a good Monday! I know that seems like an oxymoron but I actually had a decent day and I wish Mondays could be so good more often.  I'm excited, we're getting a new Point of Sale system at work that will make my life so much easier, very cool. It goes live tomorrow and I have to go in early for training but the way it works should result in much fewer billing errors and keep everyone happy :)

Tonight I've got one of the Color Club Magnetic Force polishes for you. Steel of the Night looks like a dark metallic grey in the bottle and before you hold a magnet to your nail. This is one of the polishes I picked up at Hot Topic for just $7! Much better than the $17 you could pay for a bottle of Nails Inc or Layla Magneffect. The magnet on these Color Club magnetic polishes is identical to the one that Nails Inc uses and is nicely detachable from the lid of the bottle!

I have super short nails in this post, this is what happened after my bad break on each hand. I figured it would be easier to get the magnetic pattern to show up on the whole nail. I love how stark the contrast is between the silver magnetic lines and the black absence of magnetic material. Many people loved this and asked where I got the "3D" nail polish! One coat over a black base polish.

Color Club Perfect Mol-ten

Hello Ninjas!

Finally another polish post for you. How did you feel about my cosmetics post? This is Color Club Perfect Mol-ten from their Fall 2011 Foiled Collection. This is a super pretty pale green foil that reminds me of Rimmel Rags to Riches. Two easy coats for full coverage, and this was a nice subtle metallic to wear at work. And it's green, I love green!

I need your help deciding which Illamasqua polish to wear next weekend. There's a huge outdoor Ninja event at my work and I'll be in a forest both Saturday and Sunday. I can't decide if I should wear Kink or Viridian! Help please :)

Holiday Haul and NYE Mani

Hello lovely ninjas!

Tonight I've got for you the polishes I got as a gift from my great friend Elizabeth. She got me these lovely polishes from my wish-list <3 She's one of the people who has gotten as obsessed with polish as I have since I started my blog and she's just awesome!

Altogether she got me four polishes and a HUGE container of Seche Vite. I was super excited about all of these but I think I nearly had a heartattack when I saw Piu Mosso and Scrangie! And the LuxeEffects definitely got a squeal of happiness. *sigh* I love all the pretties so much.

Of course, she also brought the polishes she thought I'd be more interested in trying so I made a huge mash-up for my New Years Manicure. I did AEngland Lancelot on my thumb, middle, and pinky fingers and AEngland Galahad on my index and ring fingers as base colors. On Lancelot I did one coat of Morgan le Fay then one coat of one of the Color Club scattered holo's from their holiday collection. Over Galahad I did one coat of Essie Shine of the time. This was a super blingy manicure that I thought was a perfect way to ring in the new year.

Stay tuned for another haul post soon! I picked up 10 polishes between clearance at Ulta and Target today since my no-buy is officially OVER. Muahahahaha.

A little layering

Hello darling readers!

Today I've got a pretty wintery layering combo for your viewing pleasure. This is three coats of Color Club Shabby Drab from their new Bohemian collection as a base with two coats of Inglot 204 on top. The overall effect was sort of like frost on a lake in the winter and I loved it! The only weird issue I ended up with was that some of my flakies sunk into the base color! I would have preferred a smoother finish but the end product was still really pretty to look at.

Red-ical Gypsy and Chunky Holo Scarlet

Hello lovelies!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and for my US readers I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Tonight I've got a Color Club polish from their Back to Boho collection, Red-ical Gypsy underneath two coats of Kleancolor Chunky Holo Scarlet. This was an amazing combination that looked like Dorothy's Ruby Slippers!

Color Club Love 'Em Leave 'Em

Hello again lovely readers!

Tonight I've got a pretty neutral from Color Club for you today. This is Love 'em Leave 'em  which is a beige holo. It's almost a linear holo but certainly not on par with the China Glaze OMG collection. A little closer to the Kaleidoscope collection where it's obviously holo but slightly more scattered than linear. I didn't get any good outside shots so it's hard to see the pretty holo rainbows but they're there!

Color Club Back to BoHo Pt. 2

Good evening readers!

I still have a cold which has turned into a dry cough. I'm about ready for this bug to be gone! Today I've got the second half of Color Club's Fall 2011 collection, Back to BoHo. This is the half with some neat shimmer and metallic colors!

Boho Mojo, what a horribly streaky frost!

Rebel Spirit

L-R: Rebel Spirit, Zoya Codie, Rebel Spirit
I did a quick comparison of Rebel Spirit to Zoya Codie because they look pretty similar in the bottle. It's hard to tell in my picture but Codie has more green undertones than Rebel Spirit. Codie also has a much easier to work with formula and only needed to easy coats.

What do you think? Which is your favorite from this half? I'm pretty sure I'm in love with Artsy Craft still even though I've already worn it with my Kleancolor.
