Zoya Godiva

Hello Lovely Ninjas!

This week is graduation week! Hubby and I will be graduating to Red-White belt and the fire element curriculum that comes with it, very exciting! Of course I'll be doing nails to match my new belt but you'll have to wait to see what I come up with until after I earn it.

Tonight's swatch is three coats of Zoya Godiva. Zoya describes Godiva as, "a soft nude with a sugared sparkle, in the exclusive Zoya PixieDust Matte Sparkle formula." The pale nature of this color made three coats necessary and four probably would have been better. For the polish to dry to the proper matte finish, I had to wait much longer than I wanted to for swatching so this isn't quite the finished texture if worn for more than a few minutes.

Godiva provided by Zoya PR for honest review.

Ulta Good Clean Fawn

Hello Ninjas!

It's been a nice relaxing Friday here in sunny NC. The weather was warm but what do you expect from a southern summer? I spent most of my time inside getting a little R&R but the hubby and I did go out to lunch with a good friend of ours so that was nice. Next week we're headed to a concert and we can't wait! It will be the first concert we've attended together and two of our favorite bands will be there :) I can't decide which band I want to match my concert manicure to though, decisions decisions.

Tonight's manicure is a color I picked up on clearance at Ulta quite a while back: Good Clean Fawn. Since I love the cream with hidden shimmer finish on polish, a nude/brown version of this was right up my alley. GCF is a dark tan cream polish that leans slightly pink and has a sort of hidden light gold/pink shimmer. As with most hidden shimmer polishes, this wasn't an easy one to capture on camera but it was a nice subtle color to wear between the brights that dominate summer.

China Glaze Fast Track

Hello Ninjas!

Depending on your time zone, I could be a little early on this post or just on time but it's easier to remember to do it tonight instead of forgetting until late tomorrow night! So, tonight I've got China Glaze's Fast Track from their Hunger Games collection. Fast Track is named for District 6 which is Transportation. Not sure what the finish and color on this polish have to do with Transportation but it sure is pretty.

Many people have said that this is a very plain polish but I really loved it. Perhaps it was because I was in the mood for a little more neutral look or maybe I just love anything with a gold shimmer in it but this was something I thoroughly enjoyed wearing. Though this is a light colored polish, two easy coats was all it took to make a nice and opaque manicure. This isn't quite a mannequin color on me but in a few more months, this would look great with a slight tan! The shimmer really makes this pop and I love how it leans slightly green at the right angle.

After wearing this for two days, I found myself short on time to change my manicure so I just added a pretty shimmery blue-green crackle topcoat from Pure Ice. This is one coat of *Strike a Pose over Fast Track. I love how this neat color actually matched one of my Hello Kitty watchbands.

Zoya Shay

Good afternoon Ninjas!

Today I've got Zoya Shay from their Touch collection that released over the summer. This was the one I thought would be closest to my mannequin hands at the time. It is entirely possible that when I picked this color up, it would have matched my slightly tanned complexion perfectly. However, since I did not swatch it until the dead of winter when I'm getting zero sunlight, it's too dark for my hands. The color itself is really pretty and the pearly shimmer makes it a more unique nude color but it just isn't right for my winter-time skin tone. Two coats was all it took for this to be opaque though which was a pleasant surprise considering how light the color was. It self-leveled as I expect of all Zoya colors and was a nice neutral color to wear after the amazing sparkle and awe of Dragon.

Color Club Love 'Em Leave 'Em

Hello again lovely readers!

Tonight I've got a pretty neutral from Color Club for you today. This is Love 'em Leave 'em  which is a beige holo. It's almost a linear holo but certainly not on par with the China Glaze OMG collection. A little closer to the Kaleidoscope collection where it's obviously holo but slightly more scattered than linear. I didn't get any good outside shots so it's hard to see the pretty holo rainbows but they're there!

Color Club Back to BoHo Pt. 1

Today I've got the first half of Color Club's Fall collection, Back to BoHo. Most of these are two coats and no top or base, they're my first real "swatches" !

Nomadic in Nude

Earthly Angel

New Bohemian

Shabby Drab

Rad Nomad
Red-ical Gypsy

I finally found my mannequin hands color! Earthly angel looks like concealer for my nails. It's a neat effect. I like this collection a lot and I'm pretty sure that Shabby Drab is my favorite from this half of the collection.

Holo Nude

Hello Ladies (And gents!)

Today I've got a pretty "palate cleanser" look with a little something special. I picked up my first Pixel Polish at Ulta the other day (haul post coming soon) in my continued quest to find a mannequin hands color. I picked up Public Display of Affection and though it's close, it still not quite perfect. The formula on this tiny bottle was great for what it was, shiny and easy to work with though fast drying so make sure to close the bottle if you do corrections while painting your nails. I did three coats here to get translucent jelly look. I wasn't thrilled with the color when I saw it wasn't my skin tone so I added Wet n Wild Dasher on top. Love this subtle combo :)
