Hello Ninjas!
Today I've got Go Overboard from the Essie spring collection of the same name. This is a gorgeous vibrant teal cream that reminds me of all the plants that go into bloom when spring starts. This was a very nice formula, not runny like some of the Essie formulas can be. Two easy coats for opaque coverage here, with a huge color payoff! My new camera really wanted to photograph this much darker than it is so there is a range of pictures to show you as close as I could get to the true color.

AEngland Lady of the Lake
Hi Ninjas!
Sorry abotu the super late post. I actually forgot to post on Saturday and I've been very very busy with the Great Midwest Trivia Competition. This is my first year on a team and it's awesome. Anyways, you've probably seen a bunch of swatches of LotL from the amazing Adina at Aengland but here's another. This is a great medium purple with a beautiful scattered holo effect <3

Happy Blogiversary!
Hello!
Today is my one year blogiversary here at Lacquer Ninja. I haven't always been Lacquer Ninja, I started off as Lacquer Lover but that name ended up with multiple duplicates. Here I am now a year later and mannnny polishes richer. For this post, I've got a look and a manicure! This was done for Toxid Lotus' Hello Kitty makeup challenge. I love it! I used a ridiculous amount of pinks to make this super soft and feminine look and topped it off with my super cute HK hat! I can't honestly remember what order or combination of pinks I used but I can tell you that my nails are China Glaze Go Go Pink that came in their Breast Cancer awareness pack with a bottle of Seche Vite.
There you have it. What do you think?

Another FOTD
Hello darling Ninjas!
Tomorrow is my one year blogiversary and I'm excited! I don't have anything spectacular planned for it like a giveaway because my car decided to break two days ago (Bye bye $800!). That said, I do appreciate every single one of my readers and hope to be able to do a great giveaway for your all very soon!
This is a look I did with a bunch of Evil Shades colors. Can you tell I'm a fan of Andrea's work? They're all super pigmented and very finely milled so they smooth on to my face like butter! This look was done with a base of Visible Violet Spectrum pot on the whole lid followed by Victorian night to compliment the purple underlay. I then added Mordant to the crease and lower lashline before highlighting my brow bones with Zombie Moon. This was a really pretty eye and got me a lot of compliments at work. I finished the look with Atomic blush and Primrose Path on my lips!

HITS Apolo
Hello lovely Ninjas!
Today I've got a pretty royal blue holographic for you! This is Apolo from the amazing HITS no Olimpio collection. I won this in one of Llarowe's flash sales a while back and I love it! Most of the swatches I've seen of this have looked a lot like a navy blue holo but the bottle I had was definitely a royal blue that was super vivid and bright. The sun decided to hide most of the time I was wearing this polish but it was gorgeous even in low lighting, I could see the rainbows when I passed traffic lights at night! Two easy coats for this color, the first was the typical bratty streaking holo coat but the second made it perfect.

FotD: Blue-Green
Hello Ninjas!
Today I've got a cute and easy look that I did over the weekend with Evil Shades Reondite and Potion. This was super simple: Reondite over the whole lid, Potion blended into the crease and edges of the eyes, Reondite again on just the center of the lids to darken it up then Potion on the bottom lashline! No eyeliner makes me look a little like a stunned peacock I think. Neat look overall I think.

AEngland Perceval
Hello ninjas!
Today I've got an amazing metallic red for your viewing pleasure. This is Perceval from AEngland's Mythicals collection. I loved this color on, it was seriously glowing like embers at the heart of a forge. Best extra-accidental present ever from The Painted Jezebel! This is two supremely easy coats of gorgeous color that wore like a dream. I can't wait for my Legends to get here!

Color Club Perfect Mol-ten
Hello Ninjas!
Finally another polish post for you. How did you feel about my cosmetics post? This is Color Club Perfect Mol-ten from their Fall 2011 Foiled Collection. This is a super pretty pale green foil that reminds me of Rimmel Rags to Riches. Two easy coats for full coverage, and this was a nice subtle metallic to wear at work. And it's green, I love green!
I need your help deciding which Illamasqua polish to wear next weekend. There's a huge outdoor Ninja event at my work and I'll be in a forest both Saturday and Sunday. I can't decide if I should wear Kink or Viridian! Help please :)

Evil Shades: Neutral look
Hello darling ninjas!
One of the things I sort of want to add to my blog is looks I do with various eye pigments and blushes. I tend not to use anything but those two when adding color to my face so I usually get creative to complete a look. Today's post is a look I did while I was still fairly sick. I was going to a friend's house for Sunday dinner so I didn't want to look like a complete zombie (well, the dead and falling apart kind anyways). I didn't really do a proper primer/base/foundation for this look, just yellow under-eye concealer well blended into my T-zone.
For my eyes, I did an all over application of Evil Shades Ceylon to make a nice pink base then I added Bronze Skies to the crease to make it a little more defined. To do the subtle highlight, I used Day Dream on my brow bones, a little Bronze Skies along the lower lash line, and finished the eyes with Great Lash Lots of Lashes mascara. I Think I may have too many coats on this look :(
For my face, I used Ceylon as it was meant: as a blush. Then I added a touch of Ardour to my lips for a really pretty and vivid orange cast. To dim it down (this is Sunday dinner) I added a little chapstick over to blend in it. Not a bad look and not a very in your face one either. What do you think?

Blacked Out
Hello Ninjas.
Since I'm in the US and my brother is very in to politics, I thought it would be only fair to black out Lacquer Ninja today. Besides, Ninjas work better in the dark...
A great link to check out is: https://www.google.com/landing/takeaction/

Zoya Anja
Hello Ninjas!
I'm not feeling particularly well, I think I'm getting a sinus infection that one of my co-workers has :( I also sprained my ankle on Friday (the 13th!) so it's been a blah Monday for me. Today I've got Zoya Anja from theor Fall 2011 Smoke collection. This is a super dark raisin color in most lightings. I didn't think it looked black even in low light though, it managed to lean just red enough to look like a deep purple in any light. For whatever reason, my flash skewed the color way more blue than it really is but I wanted to show the rich, non blackened color it can have in bright light. This is two super easy coats of Anja. I did a magnetic accent nail with the Nails Inc my MIL got me.

In-Law Haul and a Polish Rack!
Hello ninjas!
Today I've got pictures of all of the polishes my amazing Mother In Law got me for Christmas (and after). This is an amazing Haul. I'm not kidding, she willingly took me to a mall nearly an hour away so I could get my hands on some Illamasqua polish from a Sephora. She's so awesome at enabling my polish addiction <3
Isn't she amazing? I am so incredibly lucky to have her as a MIL, she's the best! The other pictures I have for you are another great present from my MIL: an acrylic polish rack! Now, I could probably use almost 5 of these so I ended up putting only my favorites on the shelves. It took me nearly an hour to do! I've got a whole picture, row pictures then an updated row picture after I received my amazing Illa. polishes and my Nails Inc Magnetic!
Thanks for looking!!

Opal Nails
Hello darling ninjas,
Today I've got the outcome at my attempt to make my nails look like fire opals. I started with a base of 4 coats of Sally Hansen Brilliant blush which I wore by itself for two days. It's a pretty translucent pearl with amazing multichrome flashes of red, pink, and orange. On top of that I added a coat of Essie Shine of the Times to be the silica inclusions that make opal so pretty. It wasn't exactly what I wanted but it was still very pretty!

Sally Hansen Red Carpet
Hello darling ninjas!
I don't know what it is lately but I've been in love with dark reds that have glitter in them. Today I've got Sally Hansen's Red Carpet from their Xtreme wear line. This is two coats but three probably would have taken care of the VNL that I saw in strong light. This was a great strawberry red that went well with the holiday season. The application was surprisingly easy and manageable considering I got the polish for only $.54 with a coupon!
